Squilla empusa Mantis Shrimp

    This very large specimen (about 200 mm.) was photographed by Joel Wooster at the Marine Discovery Center in New Smyrna Beach, Florida on 7/30/2007. The specimen was captured near New Smyrna Beach as it attempted to steal fish from a seine net being used to collect specimens for display at the center.
