Daedalochila auriculata (Say, 1818) On Evergreen Avenue In Duval County, Florida

   During a field survey on 10/02/2014, this reporter discovered a population of Daedalochila auriculata on the east side of Evergreen Avenue south of East 55th Street in the core city of Jacksonville [GPS: 30.22408N 081.38170W WGS-84 Datum]. During the brief visit to the site, about two dozen empty shells were found in addition to one living specimen. Periodic return visits to the site, continuing through July, 2015, revealed that the Daedalochila population was widespread throughout the local area east of Evergreen Avenue with large numbers of both empty shells and living specimens present.
