Pomacea diffusa Depositing Egg Clutches

    The 44 mm. female, shown below on the left, was found in the drainage ditch immediately adjacent to the SAM's Club on 5/26/2017 and taken into captivity. The next evening the female deposited an egg clutch with the completed clutch shown below on the right. The clutch measures about 40 mm. in length.

    The 65 mm. female pictured below was taken into captivity at the same time and location as the specimen pictured above. While the 44 mm. specimen deposited an egg clutch a day after its capture, the 65 mm. specimen didn't deposit an egg clutch until its second day in captivity.
