Mesodon thyroidus (Say, 1817) White-lip Globe From The Roadside Swale Along US-1

Pictured below are the fragmented ramains of a Mesodon thyroidus shell found in the roadside swale on the east side of US-1 about 3.4 miles northwest of International Golf Parkway, St. Johns County, Florida 4/30/2022. The shell was chopped up during a recent mowing of vegetation in the swale. It's uncertain whether the Mesodon was alive at the time of the mowing.
