Daedalochila auriculata (Say, 1818) On Garden Road In Duval County, Florida

   During a field trip on 11/19/2014, a Daedalochila auriculata population was discovered on the east side of Garden Road just south of the Norfolk Southern Railroad tracks  - a location just south of Cumbria Boulevard [GPS: 30.24431N 081.46301W - WGS-84 Datum]. Although not looking for Daedalochila at the time, when a discarded tire (pictured below) was turned over 10 live D. auriculata were found. A nearby large piece of cardboard was also investigated and an additional live specimens was present. A return visit the next day yielded an three more live specimens. No empty shells could be found during either visit
