Daedalochila auriculata (Say, 1818) Ocala Liptooth In Duval County, Florida |
Although not nearly as common as in neighboring St. Johns County to the south, Daedalochila auriculata have thus far been found at the following locations in Duval County: near Munsilna McGundo House, Ft. George Island in the northeastern part of the county (4/11/1976) [1], Spanish Pond, Fort Caroline National Memorial in the southeastern part of the county (11/28/1976) [2], Six Mile Creek on Imeson Road in the northwestern part of the county (3/7/2010) [3], Plummer Road in the far northwestern part of the county (4/3/2010) [4], along the fence line of Naval Air Station Jacksonville on US-17 just north of I-295 in the southwestern part of the county (11/28/1976) [5], the corner of Imeson and Pritchard Roads in the northwestern part of the county (5/8/2010) [6], on Old Middleburg Road in the western part of the county (5/15/2010) [7], Old St. Augustine Road in the southern part of the county (6/6/2010) [8], the Julington-Durbin Peninsula in the southern part of the county (10/2/2011) [9], Evergreen Avenue in the core city of Jacksonville (10/2/2014) [11], Garden Road [12], and the Collins Road Railroad Crossing [13] Additionally, as an experiment by planting specimens collected elsewhere, this reporter also established a Daedalochila auriculata population at a location off St. Johns Bluff Road South [10]. |
