Broad-headed Skink [Plestiodon laticeps] |
This specimen was photographed while perched upon a fence rail inside the campus of the University of North Florida in southeastern Duval County, Florida on 8/20/2006. Despite appearances, this difficult to approach species was not in fact admiring the Spotted Beebalm [Monarda punctata] pictured in the background but instead the multitude of insects feeding on the flowers. |
