Mesodon thyroidus (Say, 1817) White-lip Globe Up A Tree

    Up in trees about 6-8 feet above ground on the south side of Joe Johns Road near the flood plain of Little Black Creek, County Road 220 0.2 miles NW of Knight Boxx Road, Clay County, Florida, 9/25/2021. During the 9/25/2021 trip a total of 16 live Mesodon were found - fifteen of which were up trees as much as 12 feet above ground. An additional 42 empty adult Mesodon shells were also found. In both instances the snail is on the leaf of a Red Maple tree (Acer rubrum).
