Paint Rock River system, Estill Fork, 1 mi N. Estillfork, Jackson County, Alabama (1.41 mm. (left and bottom) and 1.58 mm. (right) in maximum diameter). Bob Winters! 17 March, 2015. Note the smaller shell's distinct infraparietal lamella, a feature not previously reported in this common and widespread species. Some specimens of the closely-related G. pentodon may develop such an accessory denticle. Specimens culled by H. G. Lee, and SEMs produced in collaboration with Dr. Ann Heatherington, Dept.
