Campeloma floridense (Call, 1886) Purple-throat Campeloma

     Dead in the high water wrack line, Bennett Branch, Bowden Road, Jacksonville, Duval Co., Florida 2/2/2009. The largest specimen measures 37 mm. Although this species is very common at this location, it has thus far been found at a limited number of locations in Duval County within northeast Florida.
