    The images below depict lake number five on the map (see previous page). The shoreline is generally lacking in suitable substrate for the snails to deposit their egg clutches and thus is believed to have a mininal P. canaliculata population. The eggs deposited on the concrete culvert, bottom image, remained viable while others deposited on the low bank vegetation were destroyed by a recent rise in the lake level following heavy rains.
