Liguus fasciatus Müller 1774 Florida Tree Snail Shell Damage

This Liguus fasciatus, which had sustained traumatic shell damage probably as a result of being blown out of a tree, was found and photographed by Robert Pilla in Matheson Hammock (Coral Gables), Miami-Dade County, Florida during early September, 2008. Whether the snail will be able to repair the damage and survive remains to be seen. Digital image by Robert Pilla.
