Pomacea canaliculata (Lamarck, 1822) Parent With Egg Clutch |
On 8/8/2005 the two young adult Pomacea canaliculata [pictured below] were captured in the drainage ditch just south of the concrete box culvert and placed in a small glass aquarium. Unable to resist the sudden presence of suitable structure, one of the two promptly deposited an egg clutch on the aquarium cover [bottom below]. This is a common occurrence for specimens taken into captivity. |
