Pomacea diffusa (Blume, 1957) Spiketop Apple Snail Jaws |
The jaws pictured below were extracted from two snails collected In the drainage ditch immediately adjacent to the SAM's Club on Beach Boulevard, Jacksonville, Duval County, Florida 5/26/2017. The jaws small size, as compared with those of other Apple Snail species (Pomacea paludosa, P. canaliculata and P. maculata) with a similarly sized shell, makes them difficult to locate. |
