Scanning Electron Micrographs (SEM) Of Fossil Specimens |
Lower Pinecrest beds, Upper Tamiami Formation, Sarasota County, Florida. SEMs produced in collaboration with Dr. Ann Heatherington, Dept. Geological Sciences, University of Florida, Gainesville, FL. Caecum zaagmani de Jong and Coomans, 1988, known from Bonaire and Aruba, may be descendant. Note that, like Caecum tortile Dall, 1892, Caecum cycloferum de Folin, 1867, and Caecum subspirale Carpenter, 1857, the longitudinal sculpture has a slight clockwise twist in the direction of growth. |
