Eastern Diamondback Rattlesnake [Crotalus adamanteus] |
This Eastern Diamondback was discovered coiled up under a Sable Palm tree along Heckscher Drive in Jacksonville, Duval County, Florida on 4/25/2016.The serpent was estimated to be four feet in length and had a minimum of ten rattles which are partially visible in the image below. This is not a common species and is the first specimen ever seen by this reporter in over twenty years of field surveys. |
