In garden, Bean Lodge, Bernheim Forest, Nelson Co., Kentucky (35 mm.). Because of its large size and dark pigmentation, the identification of this specimen was initially uncertain. It was subsequently preserved and forwarded to Dr. David Robinson, National Malacology Specialist of the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ), National Identification Services (NIS) at the Academy of Natural Sciences, Philadelphia, who made the identification after a careful dissection of the reproductive tract. |
