Arenaeus cribrarius Speckled Crab |
This swimming crab crab is a commonly seen resident of certain northeast Florida beaches where it is usually found almost totally buried in the sand as pictured below. When excavated, the species may at first seem somewhat docile. However, don't be fooled as it won't hesitate to defend itself its sharp claws. |
