Pomacea canaliculata (Lamarck, 1822) Egg Clutches |
The Hatton Chase Pomacea canaliculata population is so large that virtually everything imaginable along the shoreline has been pressed into service as substrate for depositing egg clutches including the broken/discarded child's toy shown below. The toy's wheels where especially attractive no doubt because they were the further from the waterline than any other parts of the toy. Photographed on May 18, 2006. |
