Camp's Gulf, Van Buren County, Tennessee; Bob Winters! 11/3/2018 (9.1
mm.). Shells of this large, uniform sample resemble the specimen
identified as S. stenotrema from Hamilton [Marion Co., NW],
AL by Pilsbry (1940: 658, figs. b). In contrast to S.
magnifumosum they have a strong buttress, looser coiling, a more
inflexed lateral end of the parietal tooth , a shorter fulcrum, and
more convex base . The shells are more plump, the basal notch
deeper, and the interdenticular sinus more excavated than in S.
stenotrema. Further, they have a broader, shallower
interdenticular sinus, less deeply inflexed parietal tooth, much
shorter fulcrum, stronger buttress, and less convex base than S. turbinella. Pilsbry, H.A., 1940. Land Mollusca of North America (north of Mexico) vol. 1 part 2.
