Limulus polyphemus Atlantic Horseshoe Crab Large Female |
| This very large female Horseshoe Crab was found in about one foot of water on muddy sand at Vilano Beach, St. Johns County, Florida on 5/4/2008. Unlike many other large specimens that are occationally found, the illustrated specimen was unusually clean and free of fouling organisms - hosting but a single Crepidula fornicata (Linnaeus, 1758) [Common Atlantic Slippersnail]. |
