Monarch Larva [Danaus plexippus] |
| This Monarch Larva was photographed at Tree Hill Nature Center in the Arlington area of eastern Duval County, Florida on 11/5/2004. The larvae feed on plants in the Milkweed family from which they sequester toxic chemicals that render them distasteful to certain predators. Note the aphids also feeding on the plant. |
