Perna viridis (Linnaeus, 1758) Asian Green Mussel

    Attached to floating dock, Browns Creek Fish Camp at the confluence of Browns Creek and the St. Johns River, Heckscher Drive, Jacksonville, Duval County, Florida, 1/24/2008. The largest specimen measures 103 mm. This is the farthest up the St. Johns River (greatest distance from the ocean) that the species has thus far been recorded in Duval County.
