| This specimen was one of several encountered feeding on flowers in the roaside swale, Nine Mile Road (International Golf Parkway), St. Johns County, Florida on 9/20/2009. The species was officially designated the state insect on April 26, 1996 at the request of garden clubs from across the state. |
