Euglandina rosea (Férussac, 1821) Feeding On Bradybaena similaris |
This large 58.4 mm. Euglandina rosea was taken into captivity at the Beaches Baptist Medical Center in Jacksonville Beach, Duval Co., Florida on 3/11/2009 where it was found aestivating on a wall. During the next 24 hours the specimen showed very little signs of life. Three live Bradybaena similaris (Férussac, 1821) [Asian Trampsnail] were then introduced into the Euglandina's makeshift terrarium. Almost immediately the Euglandina sensed the presence of a meal, attacked, firmly grasped, and consumed the Bradybaena. |
