Pomacea paludosa (Say, 1829) Florida Applesnail Eggs And Parent

    The snails pictured in the inset were collected from a very small retention pond along Beameadows Road in southeastern Jacksonville, Duval County, Florida 5/17/2017 and taken into captivity. During the early morning of 5/19/2017 one of the two snails deposited the pictured egg clutch. The eggs were less than twelve hours old when photographed and are believed to have been deposited by the snail pictured on the right. The snail on the right was also seen mating when collected.
