Perna viridis (Linnaeus, 1758) Asian Green Mussel

    Alive and attached to concrete piling of floating dock, Arlington Lions Club boat ramp, floating docks and fishing pier, Arlington, Jacksonville, Duval County, Florida, (GPS 3022699N 08137272W), 2/3/2008. Three additional larger specimens (two alive and one dead) were found on he shoreline in the same general area. Only a single specimen  was found in situ. Specimen figured on the left is Mytella charruana (d'Orbigny, 1846) Charrua Mussel - another invasive species.
