Clavus cf. pica (Reeve, 1843) |
The commensal gastropod is a juvenile female
(possibly and adult male) Cheilea equestris (Linnaeus, 1758).
Rehder (1980) declared it a separate species from the Atlantic
forms, which, if Harald was correct, need to be re-labelled,
possibly re-named. (H. G. Lee). Rehder, H. A., 1980. The marine mollusks of Easter Island (Isla de Pascua) and Sala y Goméz. Smithsonian Contributions to Zoology 289: iv + 1-167. |
