Euglandina rosea (Férussac, 1821) Attacking Bulimulus sporadicus |
This small adult was discovered beneath a downed dried palm frond near the intersection of St. Johns Bluff Road and Interstate 295, Jacksonville, Duval County, Florida on 2/27/2020. When found the Euglandina was in hot pursuit of an exotic Bulimulus sporadicus (d’Orbigny, 1835) and was closing in to administer the coup de grâce. The Bulimulus is partially visible in the image with the inset showing the Euglandina with its intended prey. |
