Euglandina rosea (Férussac, 1821) Feeding On Bulimulus sporadicus (d’Orbigny, 1835)

This 70 mm. Euglandina rosea was taken into captivity from the roadside swale along US-1 in northern St. Johns County, Florida on 11/21/2018. When presented with a series of live specimens of the exotic Bulimulus sporadicus (d’Orbigny, 1835) it immediately moved in for the kill (top image, below). The bottom image shows the Euglandina dispatching two of the helpless Bulimulus which later proved to be just a first step in devouring all the Bulimulus to which it had access.
