This Hermit Anemone was photographed as it sat in a tide pool adjacent to the south St. Johns River Jetty at Mayport Naval Station Beach, Jacksonville, Duval County, Florida on 1/19/2012. This is a common intertidal species in north Florida and can be found attached to a wide variety of objects to include living sea life such as mollusks (see: Cintura hunteria (G. Perry, 1811) With Sea Anemone).
