Melampus bidentatus Say, 1822 Eastern Melampus
   In damp vegetation above the high tide line, Sisters Creek Marina, Heckscher Dr., Jacksonville, Duval County, Florida 1/8/2008 (about 7-8 mm.).  Melampus is in the suborder Basommatophora and thus has its eyes at the base of the tentacles like our local freshwater pulmonates.
