    Summerhaven River just south of Matanzas Inlet, St. Johns County, Florida 6/15/2022. Collected and photographed by Paul Jones. Specimens from the Matanzas Inlet area as well as the St. Augustine Inlet further north are unusually large for the species. While present offshore, Strombus alatus has not yet been found intertidally north of St. Augustine.
