Monarch [Danaus plexippus] Mating |
| The illustrated specimens were photographed while mating in low grass outside the photographers back door in eastern Duval County, Florida on 1/2/2005. The mating was quite violent, lasted for about five minutes, involved considerable wing flapping by the male, and thus was difficult to photograph. |
