Luidia clathrata (Say, 1825) Lined Sea Star

     This specimen was photographed by Joel Wooster at Wilbur By The Sea north of Ponce Inlet, Volusia County, Florida 11/25/2008. This is by far the most common echinoderm found on northeast Florida beaches, and during certain times of the year, they can be found alive by the thousands.
