1060 South Fetcher Avenue Looking East (April, 2008)

During a survey on 4/8/2008, a single living Otala punctata was found on both the north and south sides of the residence. This is the first time that this reporter has found evidence of the snails this far north since the surveys began during the Fall of 2003. It should be noted that a majority of the properties within the known eight lot/house range of the snails are vacation rentals and are only periodically occupied. As a result, these properties are not well maintained and offer a more "snail friendly" habitat. Those properties with full time residents, such as 1060 South Fletcher Avenue shown below, are immaculately maintained and offer the snails little in the way of suitable habitat.
