In the roadside swale on the west side of US-1 about 3.4 miles northwest of International Golf Parkway, St. Johns County, Florida 10/8/2021. The deceased animal was present when found. It is theorized that the specimen was struck and killed by the blades of a large mower which had mowed the vegetation in the roadside swale a day earlier. Some frogs and snakes were also killed by the mowing.
