Euglandina rosea (Férussac, 1821) Tracks Fossaria cubensis (L. Pfeiffer, 1839) |
This juvenile Euglandina was photographed as it searched for a Fossaria cubensis (L. Pfeiffer, 1839) [Carib Fossaria] meal in a partially dry ditch in the roadside swale on the west side of US-1 about 3.1 miles northwest of International Golf Parkway, St. Johns County, Florida, on 10/25/2018. A large Fossaria population is present and Euglandina (primarily juveniles) are frequently found in this habitat actively searching for a meal (three specimens the day of the photography and an additional eight specimens on 10/27/2018). Fossaria pictured in the image are designated with white arrows. |
