Red-eared Slider Hatchling [Trachemys scripta]
    This recent hatchling, measuring about 30 mm. in length, was found along the shoreline of a lake on the campus of the Florida State College Jacksonville south campus in southeastern Duval County during a freshwater mollusk survey on 1/8/2006 . At the time of its discovery it was in imminent danger of becoming a snack for a flock of White Ibis which were actively feeding in the area.
