| Pinecrest Hammock 89, or "Binky Hammock" lies about 1/2 mile SW of Pinecrest Hammock 55. It was named in honor of Binky Pilsbry, daughter of the renouned author, scientist and Liguus enthusiast, Henry Pilsbry. The barbouri found here are a very distinctive variety and have been given the informal name of "Binky Barbouri." Very few Pinecrest hammocks were ever given names. (MWJ) |
