Pinecrest Hammock 80

Some collectors call this form barbouri, but the predominant coggings suggest testudineus might be a better name. These shells were collected by Winte in the 1950's.  Several forms have been found in PC 80, and it is believed that this area was a popular planting ground with some collectors prior to the ban.  Today, ubiquitous Pinecrest forms such as roseatus and castaneozonatus comprise the vast majority of the hammock. (MWJ)
