| All illustrated specimens are from the Erwin Winte Collection and were collected during the 1950's (1955 as a median). Some workers may feel the specimens illustrated as "farnumi" may be too brownish in coloration to be considered classic farnumi. I defer to Winte's identification and Jones' confirmation. It is well possible that these specimens resulted from planted Pinecrest 8 shells, and grew larger and darker as a result. See my plate on Pinecrest 7 shells to see "classic" farnumi. (MWJ) |
