| Some collectors would call this and other similiar Pinecrest shells castaneozonatus. I choose the form name walkeri because of the blackish upper and lower borders on the banding, as described by Pilsbry (1946). There is a complete transitional cline from walkeri to castaneozonatus within the Pinecrest area. (MWJ) |
