Water Hyacinth [Eichhornia crassipes] |
| This water hyacinth flower was photographed on 5/7/2006 at a lake in southern Duval County, Florida where the species has just about completely covered the entire surface. This invasive non-indigenous plant, introduced into Florida from South America in the 1880's, has been described as one of the worst weeds in the world - aquatic or terrestrial. |
