Naticarius canrena (Linnaeus, 1758) Colorful Moonsnail Possible Mating

These three Naticarius canrena were photographed by Linda Ianniello while SCUBA diving at night in the Lake Worth Lagoon near Peanut Island, Palm Beach Inlet, Palm Beach Co., Florida on March 20, 2015. It's uncertain whether the activity photographed represents mating or cannibalism. Linda's dive buddy Deb Devers returned to the area the very next day and an apparent deceased specimen was seen which suggests that it may have been cannibalism. However, there is no way to be sure that the apparent deceased specimen was one of the specimens photographed the previous evening. Underwater photographs copyright 2015 by Linda Ianniello.
