Ventridens eutropis Pilsbry, 1946 Carinate Dome Eggs And Hatchlings

In November 2021, Mr. Bob Winters (Sparta, Tennessee) collected four adult specimens and mailed them to Lori Schroeder in Bardstown, Kentucky who placed the snails in a makeshift terrarium for maintenance/observation. In April, 2021 at least one of the group deposited an estimated 80-85 eggs, which soon began hatching. Pictured below are some of the 2 mm. eggs as well as a recent hatchling. Note the delicate sculpture of the snail revealed in the apical view. Digital images by Lori Schroeder.
