Ventridens eutropis Pilsbry, 1946 Carinate Dome Eggs And Hatchlings |
In November 2021, Mr. Bob Winters (Sparta, Tennessee) collected four adult specimens and mailed them to Lori Schroeder in Bardstown, Kentucky who placed the snails in a makeshift terrarium for maintenance/observation. In April, 2021 at least one of the group deposited an estimated 80-85 eggs, which soon began hatching. Pictured below are some of the 2 mm. eggs as well as a recent hatchling. Note the delicate sculpture of the snail revealed in the apical view. Digital images by Lori Schroeder. |
