Praying Mantis [Probably Mantis religiosa - European Mantid]
    This Praying Mantis was photographed on a low shrub in eastern Duval County, Florida on 10/21/2004. During the short time that the specimen was observed it readily demonstrated why mantids are valued for their pest control abilities.
