The specimen below was taken into captivity from the roadside swale along County Road 13 in far western St. Johns County, Florida during early January, 2010 and maintained in a makeshift terrarium with about a dozen of its peers. The group were then monitored on a periodic basis. During the morning of 1/29/2010 the illustrated specimen was found to be in the process of depositing eggs near the side of the terrarium - with total of four eggs present. The specimen measures about 15 mm. in length while the eggs measured about 2 mm. | |
