When the animal was removed
the illustrated juvenile specimens pictured below were found inside.
Members of the family Viviparidae brood their young internally and
therefore produce living young instead of laying eggs.
Found fresh dead on a sand bar next to the Beech Fork River below
the bridge entering Bardstown from New Haven, Nelson County,
Kentucky, April, 2014 (39 mm.). Collected by Neal Spalding and
