|
Buried in the roadside swale on the east side of US-1 about 3.2 miles northwest of International Golf Parkway, St. Johns County, Florida 12/10/2019 (67.9 mm.). Euglandina rosea, both live specimens and empty shells, are very common at this particular location along US-1. Since 2015, nearly 500 adult shells have been found with a vast majority of them being empty shells of specimen quality. The empty shells are often somewhat faded and partially buried in the substrate and/or covered in mud. The image above depicts one such large empty shell with the insets showing the same shell after being scrubbed with soapy water. |
